My ATC (artist trading card) group's theme in April was flowers. I missed last month's get together so I am playing a little catchup. I wanted to hand-make my ATC flowers...often when you think hand-made you think time consuming, lots of work...not in this case. These flowers are ...wait...yes I will say it again...'easey-peasy lemon squeezy' lol!
All you need are some fabric circles, needle and thread. If you do not have a fabric cutter to cut the circles, you can definitely hand cut them...they do not have to be perfect because you will never see the edges. So grab a cup or a pop can and trace out the circle onto cardboard for a template.
Cut out five circles from fabric. Double thread a needle (about 18 inches long) and tie a big knot at the end.
Take one circle, fold in half and use a running stitch to close the half circle , repeat for all circles, keeping all the sewn circles on the same thread.
Once you have finished sewing the 5 circles, gently pull on the thread and you will see the petals starting to form.
When all petals have formed, just simply stitch close the opening between the first and last petal.
