Sketch Support Creative Team

I have some very exciting news to share.  I will be joining the 2012 design team for Sketch Support.
Sometimes you just need that little creative boost for your pages, cards, and projects.  I love that you can take a sketch, add in your personal inspiration, and create something meaningful and beautiful.

Here is a card sketch from Sketch Support.  I took inspiration from the heart theme and thought it would be nice to create a journal book to record all the things you love.  I love the stitching element too so I stitched around the outside border for that extra home-made touch.

I am look forward to working with Allison Davis, creator of Sketch Support, and the rest of the talented creative team gals!  See the rest of the design team here.

Cooking up a Winter recipe with some Basic Grey Hello Luscious

Hey all, let's not be fooled by this warm weather, I think Winter is just around the corner waiting for the right moment to give us a chilly blast. I'am ready, have located all our hats, mittens, scarves, and coats from storage and Anna is awaiting her first 'SNOW' day! Me too!

In the meantime, I have been busy playing with Basic Grey's Luscious paper collection. I love that some of their patterns and colours translate so easy to a fun 2 page Winter layout. Have just finished cutting out some die cuts that will be included in the kit. Yes, I do cut all of these by hand so if you ever happen to pick up one of my kits and some little piece is is human error but I do double count, triple count everything to avoid that from happening.

Winter Joy 2 Page Design

I have a few other kits styles in the works, a really funky girly design (using Basic Grey too) one and beautiful traditional family 4 page design using Simple Stories Family generation collection.  More details to follow.

All of these kit designs are created for Younique Country Retreat. I am dropping them off to Heather next week. So if you are in the area, please check them out or you can always reserve one by giving her a call.

Supplies doing double duty

Hey...can you believe that Christmas is less than 2 months away, yikes!!   Have you started thinking about making some Christmas cards/tags? How about rummaging through your Christmas dies stash early and make some Fall themed cards?  As always I like to find ways of re-using and re-purposing dies/punches.  Chalk it up to the engineer in me (but that is as technical as this girl gets these days, LOL).

Using Fall themed papers and using parts of dies you can s-t-r-e-t-c-h your supplies.   For more close-ups and how-to steps to make these cards, please hop on over to Scrapbook and Cards Today's blog for my monthly 3T's (tips, tricks, and techniques) post.

Give Thanks

November's designer challenge theme for the gals at Scor-pal is Give Thanks.   I decided to create an accordion style card.  The finished card is super easy to make and will fit perfectly into an A2 sized envelope.

Here are the easy steps:

Start with a 5.5 x 10.5 piece of paper.  Place the 10.5 inch length along the Scor-pal tool and score at 2.75 and 6.25 inches.  Then fold into an accordion.  The middle flap is perfectly centred and can be the focal point of the theme of your card.

In my finished example, I used American Crafts Night Fall collection.  I love the browns, blues, and oranges colour combinations.  I created a tree and instead of autumn leaves used hearts instead.

Thanks for stopping by, please hop on over to Scor-pal's blog for some more creative inspiration by my fellow Scor-pal designers.   Have a wonderful week!

A week of BoBunny and Scor-pal

BoBunny and Scor-pal have teamed up this week for some creative inspiration and fun giveaways.  Be sure to hop over to BOTH the Scor-pal and BoBunny blogs and leave a comment to enter to win some great prizes.

Today my project features the deliciously cute Sweet Tooth Collection by BoBunny.  I had so much fun working with this paper collection to create an Accordion Tri-Fold Flap mini-album.  The album itself is created with only one sheet of 12 x 12 paper so it is a really easy project to whip up.  You can just add photo(s) or embellish as you wish.  The step-by-step to create this can be found here

Be sure to check back daily to both Scor-pal and BoBunny blogs as new projects will be revealed everyday leaving you more chances to win! Good Luck!
