Dry embossing

I love the look of dry embossing and with all the beautiful designs out there I really should use this technique more often and not for just cards, dry embossing could add another beautiful texture to my pages too!

I love this Sizzix window diecut, it is a Tim Holtz alterations design.  I didn't do this for my card, but I think this would look awesome if you diecut some chipboard and use crackle and white acrylic paint to make it look weathered.

I made this easy-peasy card using a Sizzix embossing folder (pears and vines set) and matted it under the window for that 'look out the window' scenery effect.  The possibilities are endless with using the window---> think any images for any season, so versatile!

The negative from the window panes are fabulous chipboard tiles that you can use for matting alphabets and other stuff- so remember 'negatives' from your die cuts are worth keeping.  Would you believe it if I told you I have a filing system for all my negatives throw-away stuff, lol!

Have fun using your embossing folders!

Summer ,Summer and Summer pages!

I am so excited to share that I'll be teaching this Summer Bliss layouts workshop at One Crazy Stamper on Saturday July 5!  I had so much fun creating this class using Echo Park's Summer Bliss collection, everything is loaded in your class kit to create 5 double page layouts!  I wasn't shy about using large summer icons because nothing says how much we love summer than being a little crazy and loud!

Lora, owner of One Crazy Stamper, has an amazing crop space and is the perfect place for you to spend some time crafting!  Plan on finishing most of the projects in class and should you wish to stay longer Lora will leave the classroom open for you until 5pm- woot!

Here is a quick peek at some class images, you can register for the workshop here.
I would love for you to join me!!

For those that have already registered for my Homepun Happiness (sold out) workshop on May 31- looking forward to seeing you very soon!  We are going to have fun with lots of Simple Stories goodies!

Happy May- New PageMaps Sketches!

It is May 1st so this means new PageMaps sketches are available, woot!  You can find Becky's amazing sketch inspiration here, it is also PageMaps 8th Anniversary this month - Happy Anniversary!!

I chose to use this sketch, I love the 'T' design for a couple of photos and vertical journaling below.

The team was given a sketch challenge this month, I chose to rotate the sketch 90 degrees left, ie. the 'T' design is rotated and I thought the vertical element would be perfect for a single photo clustered with some embellishments.  I still utilized the journaling area for horizontal journal strips.

This layout was a little out of the box, firstly I took a selfie, and secondly scrapbooked it!- still feels a little awkward to do this but I think I will appreciate it years later when I look back on it.

Have a wonderful day, hope you can squeeze a little crafting time in for National Scrapbook Day (May3)!
